Aonang Silver Orchid Resort

The room was fine and the pool had a nice view. The hotel is average quality, which is fine for what we paid. Location is a little far from the beach relative to other hotels in the area. But not too far. They say they have shuttle service to the beach but only 2x per day. Good service most of the time. But what really annoyed me was the blatant attempt to have everything extra booked at the hotel to generate more sales. We wanted a taxi to the airport which you can find every 10m in Krabi. We were told that it would be hard because it was the day of and so we had to book right away. When she called, it took less than 15 seconds to secure one. We asked if we can pay later as we were heading out, and we were told that if we did not pay right, then they could not get a taxi for us later. Out of fear, we booked. Only to confirm on our run that everyone could offer us a taxi the same day. And every place charged less than there supposed "minimum" cost quote. When it came to tours, they ignored our questions because we wanted to book something they did not offer. It was just a negative theme to an otherwise fine stay.

Nice hotel in quiet part of Krabi. It was near the main street about 5 minutes by foot. Room was clean and nice. The view on mountains is really amazing. Pool was clean, warm and good. There is a pool bar, where you can buy soft drinks and beer. The breakfast was great with good things and hand made omelets, coffee is only instant from coffee mashine.

RUN!!! I had a truly dreadful experience at this hotel. Upon arrival, it became evident that the pictures were deceitful. The interior design is shockingly unattractive. To add to the disappointment, the receptionist couldn't speak English, and there was no sign of a manager. The room was a complete catastrophe. We only spent one night there, to document this disaster. The balcony had weathered plastic chairs overlooking a dirty parking lot instead of the promised mountain view. The sight was so appalling that we instantly knew something was amiss. Three words to describe it: dark, dirty, and hideous – a far cry from the images available on every booking platform. We encountered a powdered bedspread, filthy bed linens like I've never seen before: instead of washing the sheets, they literally powdered them! Dirty walls, worn-out furniture, a thick layer of dust, and an overall sense that it hadn't seen a cleaner or inhabitant in a decade. You better not touch the dirty curtains, as one side faced a grimy terrace and the other an ugly parking lot. To make matters worse, the stuff is extremely unfriendly. When expressing our disappointment and asking for help, all staff members including the manager started shouting with us without acknowledging that we paid for visiting the hotel. The manager only responded to almost every question: “non refundable”. We checked out after one sleepless night (as you can hear every single noise), and went to a luxury hotel for almost the same price. If you have a booking at this hotel, cancel it while you still can, cause otherwise you’ll loose your money like we and many before us did!
